Description:

The 2748 was the tape reader system for 2100 computers. It had a reading speed of 500 characters per second. The 2758A ($3,000) was also introduced in 1970 and included a take up reel for the paper tape. At twice the price, very few of the 2758A were produced.

The 2748B also came in bundled configurations (racking, interface card, cables, etc) for 2000/1000 computers and for 3000 computers. The part numbers were 12925A and 30104A respectively.

The 2748 was obsoleted in July of 1983.
