The 33480A (code named Bitteroot) was the first LaserJet network connection produced by HP. The 33480A was a large, stand-alone unit that sat underneath the printer. By contrast, future HP network connections took the form of internal interfaces within the printer. The 33480A only worked with Novell networks.
The Token Ring version of the 33480A (option 002) was priced at $995.
